Triple Crown Division Rules

SMALL CAR RULES

CAR ELIGIBILITY
Any 2003 or prior three, four, or six-cylinder front wheel drive passenger car with a maximum length of 192”
bumper to bumper. No turbo-chargers, no convertibles, pick-up trucks or vans, or four wheel drive cars. If so
equipped, all wheel steering cars must disable rear steering. Baseline models only. Vin tag # is mandatory and must
remain in stock location. Norway, Thunder Valley, and cars with similar rules are eligible to run per their track rules,
and if enough enter, they will run as a separate class.

DRIVER ELIGIBILITY
Driver must be at least 14 years old and have a signed waiver from a parent or legal guardian.

BODY AND GLASS
All glass must be removed except front windshield. Lexan windshield is permitted, but if used, must include
bracing with a minimum of two 3/8” diameter steel bars for safety and support. A screen may be used in place of a
windshield. Drivers using a screen must wear a full face helmet.
All exterior trim including lights, body moldings, mirrors, etc., must be removed. All doors must be chained
or welded shut. Door bars are recommended for driver's door. The exterior protection plate for a driver's door must be
a five foot long, 1/8” steel plate, six inches wide, welded or bolted to the outside of the driver's door, centered between
18 to 22 inches from ground, and overlapping to the adjacent panels. For 4 door cars, protection plate may be extend
past rear doors. Rub rails are not allowed. Hood and trunk must be secured with hood pins only and must use stock
hinges. No other latching devices permitted unless approved by technical inspector. Cars equipped with hatchbacks
must retain them as stock and must be welded, chained or pinned to secure.
Cars equipped with sunroof must remove glass and cover roof hole with minimum 16 gauge steel, no aluminum and must be welded or riveted. NO SCREWS. Bumpers must be stock as manufactured for that car. No bracing or reinforcing of bumpers allowed. Bumpers may be capped with 16 gauge steel no wider than the bumper.

GAS TANK
Stock fuel tank recommended, mounted in stock location. If stock fuel tank was located behind rear axle, it must be removed and replaced with fuel cell or marine type tank mounted in the trunk, securely fastened with two
1”x1/16th” straps in each direction bolted through the floor with reinforcing plates or in a safely constructed frame. Fuel cells/boat tanks must be at least 10” forward from rear panel of car and must be between frame rails. No bottom draw tanks. Cars equipped with fuel cells/boat tanks must have a sealed protective metal barrier between the driver
and the fuel cell. Maximum fuel cell size 8.0 gallons. If fuel pump is rewired directly to switch it must be clearly marked for shut off purposes. A master shut off switch is recommended.

INTERIOR
All flammable materials must be removed except the driver's seat and the full factory dash, which must be kept in place. The driver's door panel must be kept in place. Driver's seat may be changed. Window nets are allowed and recommended. Stock seat belts with shoulder strap REQUIRED. After market full race harness is permitted. A five point harness is strongly recommended! No cutting or gutting of interior steel panels. Door panels or bracing allowed. Air bags must be removed or disconnected.

ROLLBARS
Rollbars or cages not required, but if so equipped, it is your responsibility to construct a cage or rollbar capable
of protecting you from injury. 1 3/4” diameter by .095” wall tubing ONLY. Using tubing of a different size may result in penalty laps if you are permitted to race at all. A single hoop bar with 2 angled down bars must be welded, or bolted with sandwich plates (4”x4”x1/8”) to the car. Hoop must be full height and width of car. Down bars must connect at a
point at least 2/3rds of the way up the hoop. This is the minimum required, but you may make a 4 point cage if you prefer. Bends should be made with a bender(no kinks) or be miter cut, welded and gusseted. No portion of rollbar or cage is to pass through the firewall or be attached to the frame so as to stiffen the car.

BATTERY
If in stock location, battery must be securely mounted and tied down. Top post batteries must be covered to
protect from short out. Battery may be relocated, but must be securely mounted with steel to steel tie down required. Batteries mounted in passenger compartment must be in a plastic or steel case of sufficient size to hold the entire acid content of the battery in case of rollover, battery must be mounted on floor closest to firewall of passengers side.
If battery can be moved at all by tech inspector, you will be required to put it back under the hood.

BRAKES
Stock as delivered from manufacturer with no modifications. Must be capable of locking all four wheels. Stock proportioning valves only, for car as manufactured.

TRANSMISSION AND AXLES
Stock as delivered from manufacturer with no modifications. Working forward and reverse gears.

EXHAUST SYSTEM
Required: 2” Maximum diameter exhaust pipe with muffler. Catalytic converter may be removed or gutted. Exhaust system must run from engine to somewhere beyond driver's seat and under the floor pan. Penalty laps will be assessed if you lose any part of your exhaust. No after market large bore muffler allowed.

STEERING AND SUSPENSION
Stock as delivered from manufacturer. No modifications or after market performance parts. Car must maintain stock ride attitude. 1/2” camber max. Cars should be prepared to run in either direction.

COOLING SYSTEM
Stock as delivered from manufacturer. Fan shroud required if fan is engine driven. No antifreeze, water only.

FIRE SUITS
Fire suits are recommended, Full coverage clothing from wrist and ankle to neck required. Cotton recommended, no nylon or polyester.

HELMET
Required: Minimum DOT approval. SNELL approval recommended.

TIRES AND WHEELS
Passenger car tires only, must be “P” rated. 65, 70, 75, or 80 series tires only are allowed. No shaving, grinding, buffing, or profiling. Tires rated S, T, and H are allowed. Tires rated V and Z are not allowed. Both front wheels must have 1” lug nuts and all wheels must use stock length studs. Maximum tire size is 205x15 by 65 through 80. Magnetic steel, stock type wheels only, no aluminum, after market, or alloy wheels. Stock offset wheels only. Racing wheels may be used but must have stock offset. No studded tires or chains, no mini donut or space saver spare tires allowed. Tire sizes may be mixed but tires must be either 13”, 14”, 15” rim size. Additionally, rim sizes of 13”, 14”, and 15” cannot be mixed. No snow tires.

ENGINE
Stock as delivered from manufacturer. Complete stock motor for car used with NO MODIFICATIONS or after market performance parts allowed. Unnecessary wiring, air compressors, smog pumps, heater and air conditioning components may be removed.

CAR NUMBERS
Required: Numbers must be a minimum of 18” high in a contrasting color on both doors and roof. 6” number
on upper right corner of windshield and on trunk right side.

POST RACE INSPECTION
At the conclusion of a scheduled event, top finishing cars will report for technical inspection. At the time necessary checks will be made to determine that cars conform to the rules. Officials reserve the right to interpret and enforce the rules and procedures as they see fit and that the intent of the rule is being applied. The decision of the
officials shall be final, official, binding and not appealable.

GENERAL
All cars are subject to a minimum specification inspection at any time. It is the responsibility of the driver to
prepare their car FREE of defects and in safe racing condition.

MICROSPRINT RULES
Cage

● 1” Dia. Min., .090 wall min. steel tube (Sprint style cage)
● Minimum 4 uprights on cage per side.
● Driver must exit out side of car.
● Frame width 26” maximum.
● Frame length 85” maximum.
● Front & rear axles must not exceed frame, 78” wheel base maximum.
Engine 650 twin 4-stroke class
● Up to 650cc parallel twin or single cylinder (up to 650cc's displacement maximum)
● No fuel-injection model allowed. Engine must come from the factory with carbs. (Aftermarket carbs are allowed)
● Must be stock bore and stroke (clean up boring up to 1 mm allowed, no big bore kits)
● Must be 14 years old.
Engine 600 multi-cylinder 4-stroke class
● 600cc max. inline or V type motors (up to 650cc's displacement maximum). The inline 4-cylinders are allowed 1 mm cleanup. Which is 618cc max displacement. The 650 V-type are allowed only first over (.25 mm) due to their cc advantage.
● Stock fuel-injection models allowed on trial basis. Only stock parts for that model allowed. No add ons.
● Must be 14 years old.
Safety
● 5-point harness.
● Aluminum race seat.
● Snell 90 or greater helmet.
● Must have master on/off switch for fuel and electrical on drivers side. It must be well marked for safety crew to see.
● Fuel system must have roll over valve installed.
Bumpers
● 1” dia. Light wall tubing maximum.
● Front & rear bumpers no wider than frame rail.
● Single hoop front bumper must not extend outward more than 10”.
● Nerf bars 1” max.
● All bumpers & nerfs must have rounded corners – no 45's.
● NO BATTERING RAMS.
Wing
● Top wing mandatory – 12 sq. ft. max.
Tires
● 22” tall x 11” wide max.

TOUGH TRUCK/CAR RULES

DRIVERS PLEASE READ THIS INFORMATION


Tough trucks and cars will run on a short course of turns, moguls, and table top. One vehicle at a time.
Fast time wins. 1 or 2 runs time permitting.
1. Open to trucks or cars 2 or 4 wheel drive.
2. Vehicle must be in good mechanical condition.
3. Only 1 driver per vehicle.
4. No passengers allowed.
5. No off-road/pro-arena type vehicles allowed.
6. DOT approved tires only.
7. Must be stock frame.
8. Shocks must be mounted in stock location of that vehicle.
9. Aftermarket exhaust allowed. May run open headers.
10. Suspension lift kits allowed.
11. No nitrous oxide, aftermarket super chargers, or turbos.
12. Roll bars, fire extinguisher, neck brace or any approved safety device is stronglyrecommended. (rollbars required if vehicle does not have a hardtop).
13. Must have seat belt or racing type harness.
14. DOT helmet required.
15. Drivers must show proof of a legal driver's license and be at least 18 years old.
16. Vehicle must not have any obscene language on it.
17. Drivers must attend driver's meeting prior to the event.
18. Drivers and pit crew must not be drinking or smell of alcohol or be under the use of illegal drugs.
19. Vehicle must have some place for the wrecker to hook to in case we need to move your vehicle.

Drivers Read:
1. It is the driver's responsibility for their vehicle's safe operation and safety equipment. The Competition Committee reserves the right to inspect any vehicle at any time.
2. All questions, concerns and disputes regarding the application of rules will be the Competition Director's sole decision.
3. All vehicles must have operable brakes, throttle returns and an ignition shut off. Helmets and seat belts are required.
4. Foul or abusive language will NOT be tolerated. Nor will disrespect to other racers, race officials or spectators. Drivers are responsible for their own actions as well as the actions of their pit crews.
5. Roll cages and racing type seat belts are recommended. Open top and structurally altered (cutting or weakening from OEM standards) vehicles must have a minimum of a 6-point cage, preferably an 8-point. Unaltered cabs OK but recommend a 4-point cage.
6. All racing vehicles must have VISIBLE hookups on both front and rear to be used for pulling vehicle out of the track. It is the driver's responsibility to inform the track official in the proper hook up of their vehicle.
7. Drivers are responsible for the safe operating condition of their personal vehicle. All loose items should be removed from cab and bed of vehicle as ANYTHING falling out during the race will result in your disqualification. Race order will be determined at the driver's meeting.

Drivers are expected to go to the staging area and to be ready to race when the Track Officials ask you to. Officials will instruct drivers to line up in run order.

All vehicles must come to a COMPLETE STOP after crossing the finish line. Failure to do so will result in disqualification for that run.

Failure to comply with the above will result in immediate dismissal from the race.

Runs will be timed and positions will be scored with the quickest time being your scored time.

Special note to ALL DRIVERS and TEAM MEMBERS
Check your vehicle closely before racing. It is imperative that all participants take every precaution to ensure a safe event for both the driver and spectators. Your brakes must be in good working order, and will be tested at tech. Your throttle must work smoothly. Your racer must be as safe as possible.

FINAL NOTE
All decisions made by the Competition Committee Officials are final and can be changed by the Competition Director at will in the interest of safety.
